What's the best processor I can get for a Socket 754 motherboard?

There are some cheap Semprons, but that's it. Any of those would be a downgrade. Socket 754 is 3 generations old, socket 939 has passed, and the current socket is AM2. And appearentally AM3 (possibly a code name) will come out.
